Safety Is How We Build

Every person on a DirtCo crew goes home the same way they came to work.

Safety first, every shift. Daily tailgate meetings, weekly crew safety training, OSHA trench protection, and Digline locates before every dig.

Our Safety Programs

Daily tailgate meetings: Every crew starts the shift reviewing the day's tasks, hazards and

controls.

Weekly Monday safety meetings: Every Monday the whole crew works through a written safety topic and worksheet, including OSHA 1926 Subpart P excavation and trenching, Idaho Digline/811 procedures, and CPR and first aid.

Competent person on every excavation: A trained competent person inspects excavations daily and after any change in conditions, per OSHA 1926.651.

Trench protection: Sloping, benching, trench boxes and shoring selected for soil type and depth. No one enters an unprotected trench 5 feet or deeper.

Digline locates before every dig: We call Idaho Digline (811) and confirm marks before any excavation, and pothole to verify existing utilities at crossings.

Equipment inspections: Pre-shift walkarounds on every machine and truck, with defects tagged out until repaired.

CPR and first aid: Crews trained in CPR and first aid, with first aid kits on every rig.

Stop-work authority: Every employee has the authority and the expectation to stop work when something is unsafe, with no penalty.
